Our Programs Focus on Increasing Educational Opportunities, Supporting Future Leaders and Empowering Communities
Our central mission is to collaborate with Amazonian Communities, representative organizations and other partners in Peru to enhance educational opportunities, build inter-cultural exchanges, promote better access to culturally relevant healthcare and defend cultural heritage in all its forms.
We focus on collaboration with Indigenous People, Indigenous Organizations and NGOs whose priorities and missions align with the needs and requests of local peoples.
Christopher Hewlett (President) and Giancarlo Rolando (Treasurer and Communications) are responsible for coordinating with local partners, fundraising and identifying new programs.
Chris and Giancarlo have been working with communities on the Inuya and Purus Rivers for 15 years.
Juan Rubén Ruiz Zevallos manages our scholarship program, coordinating with local partners, mentoring students and monitoring their needs and progress.
Founded in 2019, SHARE International is a 501c3 registered organization that develops and supports programs and projects in collaboration with Amazonian Communities and representative organizations in Peru to support grassroots activities, collaborate with local partners to fight for better healthcare, increase education opportunities and enhance protections of cultural heritage.
Our main areas of focus are Amazonian Communities on the Inuya, Mapuya and Purus Watersheds located in the Eastern part of the Peruvian Amazon.
Our primary partner on the Inuya River is the Indigenous Federation for the Upper Inuya and Mapuya Rivers (FIARIM), which represents the indigenous communities in those locations with the aim of elevating the voices of the communities at the regional, national and international levels.
On the Purus River, we work with a variety of partners, including Indigenous leaders, bilingual teachers, representatives of national parks service and other NGOs.
